One thing I love about this series is how real the characters feel. June and Day seem like typical teenagers who have been put in crazy positions in a crazy world. Along with that, the worldbuilding is amazing, and I love the dystopian version of America.

Prodigy is full of good plot twists. It’s somewhat predictable, but at the same time it’s still unique and interesting, and you never know exactly what the next page will hold.

It does throw me off still that they’re only fifteen years old, and I think the story would be stronger and make more sense if they were older, but other than that, I’m really enjoying the series and can’t wait to read the last book in the trilogy.

Thoughts

It has been seven days since June and Day barely escaped Los Angeles and the Republic with their lives. Believed dead‚ Day lost his brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic’s most wanted traitor. Desperate for help‚ they turn to the Patriots — a vigilante rebel group. But can they trust them? Or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games?
