Julia is just a small-town girl from Nebraska who loves her peaceful life. As Damion and Julia figure out where they belong, can they see past their differences and act on their feelings, or will the trust Damion has worked so hard to gain fall apart?

Lynn Painter’s writing style is brilliant. She writes romcoms that make you laugh out loud, kick your feet, and want to yell at the main characters for being so stupid. She also includes more swearing than normal English throughout her stories.

If you’ve read Fake Skating (also by Lynn Painter), it’s similar in content level. If you’re able to handle lots of swearing, lots of comments/themes that aren’t ideal, then this one is an option.

Her characters, plots, and tropes are amazing, and this one didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed her other books (specifically Betting on You, along with Better Than the Movies) more, but if you enjoy a good rags-to-riches, enemies-to-lovers, banter-filled, awkward-female-character, flirty-and-hot-male-character love story, this one would work perfectly. (Again, as long as you don’t mind consistent f-bombs and taking the Lord’s name in vain.)
